The Night Vision Outfitters Universal Pan & Tilt Thermal Mount is a compact, vehicle-mounted scanning solution designed to transform any thermal optic with streaming capability into a hands-free pan and tilt system. Built around a standard 1/4” mounting interface or magnet mount, this unit provides broad compatibility allowing users to quickly adapt existing optics into a fixed, remotely controlled platform.

Designed for practical, in-vehicle use, the system features full 360° horizontal rotation with multiple adjustable speed settings, enabling rapid area scanning and target tracking without leaving the comfort of your vehicle. It’s rotation can complete a full sweep in approximately 15 seconds, allowing for fast, efficient coverage when scanning large properties. Operation is handled via a wireless remote control, providing smooth, responsive control while remaining inside the cab.

When paired with a WiFi-capable thermal monocular, live video is transmitted directly to a tablet or mobile device using the optic’s native app. This creates a true remote observation setup and maintains broad compatibility across a wide range of thermal optics without requiring a dedicated ecosystem.

Mounting is handled through a high-strength magnetic base, providing a secure attachment point directly to the roof of a vehicle without drilling or permanent modification. The magnetic base can also be removed, allowing the unit to be hard-mounted for more permanent or specialized setups using the 1/4” interface. This dual-mount capability gives users flexibility depending on their application, whether for quick deployment or dedicated installation.

The top mounting plate is removable, allowing advanced users to adapt the system for custom mounting solutions. With user fabrication, the platform can be modified to accept alternate interfaces such as Picatinny rails or other specialized mounting configurations, further expanding the versatility of the system.

Power is supplied by a non-proprietary, replaceable 18650 battery, allowing for extended runtime with the ability to quickly swap batteries as needed.  The battery can remain within the unit for charging, but can also be removed and charged with an external charger if desired.

The system is built to handle outdoor environments and includes a protective rain cover to help shield the unit from moisture and debris as required. In operation, the unit delivers smooth, controlled rotation and stable positioning, allowing for consistent scanning and tracking.
