The Act in Black (ACT) DTNVS is a full-featured articulating binocular system in a compact, lightweight, and ultra-rugged package.  It is currently in by military, law enforcement, and civilian end-users worldwide. 

The DTNVS features a dual articulating design which allows users to operate the unit with either one or both eyes.  This is useful when operating a thermal optic or other passive aiming device while maintaining night vision on one side only.  This also allows the user to stow the pods comfortably against the helmet for a lower profile while in a vehicle or where head space may be limited.  Individual pods are powered off when articulated to eliminate backspash and protect the image intensifier tubes.

The DTNVS is comprised of a simple, minimalist design, but without sacrificing features.  A simple twist / pull rotary knob controls power on/off, and IR illumination functions.  Automatic brightness control adjusts gain to the appropriate levels without user input.  A durable, aluminum dovetail provides secure attachment to the user’s helmet mount. 

Housing and Optics Information

The ACT DTNVS is built using ultralight, yet high-strength reinforced polymer construction to create one the lightest weight but highest performing binocular night vision devices (BNVD) currently on the market.  It exceeds MIL-STD-810G and US SOCOM test protocols for drop and impact resistance by a factor of two.  Power is supplied by a single CR123A battery, which allows up to 35 hours of continuous use. 

High-quality Carson Mil-Spec objective lens and eyepiece optics are used standard and provide excellent image quality and light transmission.

Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) ultralight objective lenses and eyepieces are available as an upgraded option.  RPO optics are approximately 20% lighter weight than standard Mil-Spec optics without any sacrifice of image quality. 

All units are professionally assembled, nitrogen-purged, and thoroughly tested.

Image Intensifier Tube Information

• Elbit Systems USA Thin-Film White Phosphor, 2000-2376 FOM, "Grade A"

All units are built using high-quality, meticulously-selected, brand-new image intensifier tubes.  All image intensifiers we use are “Grade-A”, meaning they have the most stringent spot (blemish) tolerances. 

Elbit thin-film tubes perform well in most conditions with minimal ambient light.  These tubes are an excellent value, produce a great image, and are more affordable than L-3 tubes.  They work exceptionally well in urban environments with some ambient light.

Warranty Information:
