The PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular System is the gold-standard night vision monocular in use today by all branches of the United States Military as well as many Law Enforcement Agencies.
It is extremely versatile and can be utilized in handheld, weapon-mounted or helmet-mounted capacities. When in use the PVS-14 provides high-quality Generation 3 night vision aid to the user, but while allowing the unaided eye to retain its natural, night-adapted vision for overall situational awareness.
Gain control allows the user to adjust the brightness of the unit in order to provide the perfect balance of night vision clarity without a blinding excess of light. An onboard IR illuminator provides supplemental, short-range illumination in extremely dark environments.
Housing and Optics Information
Night Vision Outfitters PVS-14’s are built using high-quality Carson Industries housings. They are extremely rugged, corrosion-resistant, and waterproof to sixty feet for up to two hours. Power is supplied by a single AA battery, which provides up to 50 hours of continuous use.
High-quality Carson Mil-Spec objective lens and eyepiece optics are used standard and provide excellent image quality and light transmission.
Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) ultralight objective lenses and eyepieces are available as an upgraded option. RPO optics are approximately 20% lighter weight than standard Mil-Spec optics without any sacrifice of image quality.
All units are professionally assembled, nitrogen-purged, and thoroughly tested.
Image Intensifier Tube Information
This Night Vision Outfitters PVS-14 is available with the following Image Intensifier Tube options:
- L-3 Harris Unfilmed 20UA Filmless White Phosphor, 2000-2376 FOM
- L-3 Harris Unfilmed 20UA Filmless White Phosphor, 2376+ FOM
All units are built using high-quality, meticulously-selected, brand-new image intensifier tubes. All image intensifiers we use are “Grade-A”, meaning they have the most stringent spot (blemish) tolerances.
L-3 Harris filmless tubes perform well in all conditions, but especially in rural or very dark environments. Typically filmless tubes will have higher average performance specifications on their data sheets that comparable thin-film tubes, and produce an excellent image.
All L-3 tubes we use are “UA” designated, which means they are “Aviation” grade and provide L-3’s most stringent spot tolerances.
