The RIX STORM S3R V2 takes the compact and affordable STORM platform and upgrades the areas that matter most. It features a 384×288, 12μm thermal sensor with <15mK sensitivity, 35mm F/1.0 objective lens, 3.5× base magnification, and RIX RET image processing for detailed thermal imaging and improved target definition.

Compared with the original S3R, thermal sensitivity improves from <25mK to <15mK, while retaining the 3.5× base magnification for extended range shooting. The V2 also replaces the previous 1024×768 display with a larger 0.49” 1920×1080 AMOLED display and increases eye relief to 52mm for a more comfortable viewing experience. 

The integrated laser rangefinder receives another major upgrade, increasing maximum range from 1,312 yards to 2,187 yards. Built-in ballistic calculation provides effective aiming solutions, while improved 0.43 MOA-per-click zeroing allows finer adjustments than the previous generation. Additionally, a finer reticle than the previous generation further allows for improved precision.

RIX redesigned the mounting system and moved the LRF to the left side of the optic, providing additional flexibility for bolt-action users. The raised and extended quick-detach mount ensures proper eye relief, particularly when utilized on bolt-action rifles. The mount also moves the release lever to the left side. Raised, tactile controls improve ergonomics while allowing easier operation when wearing gloves.

The S3R V2 runs on a non-proprietary replaceable 18650 battery system which provides up to four hours of battery life, and USB-C port provides the ability for external power when required. Other key features include onboard photo and video recording with sound, Wi-Fi, RIX+ app connectivity, Freeze Frame Zeroing, multiple zeroing profiles, multiple palettes and reticle options, a threaded eye-cup, recoil rating of up to 6,000 Joules and a IP67-rated housing.

Warranty Information

The STORM S3R V2 is backed by a five-year, transferable warranty. Additionally, repairs or replacement are guaranteed within ten working days once the unit is received by RIX, so buy with the confidence you’ll be able to enjoy this optic for years to come.
