The WAVE ETHOS E3 LRF features a high-performance 384×288 thermal sensor, large 44mm objective lens, integrated laser rangefinder, and onboard ballistic calculation in a compact, 30mm tube-style thermal riflescope. Built around WAVE Infrared’s MicroTherm 18 Sensor™, X-WAVE Lens™, and TrueView™ image processing, the ETHOS E3 LRF delivers excellent thermal sensitivity, long-range detection, and an immersive viewing experience while maintaining simple, intuitive controls. All of these features combine to create a simple, effective, and affordable thermal optic.

At the heart of the WAVE ETHOS E3 LRF is a 384×288, 12μm thermal sensor with <18 mK NETD sensitivity and a 50 Hz refresh rate, producing detailed thermal imagery even in challenging environmental conditions. The sensor is paired with WAVE’s large 44mm X-WAVE Lens™, providing 3.5× base magnification and a 395-foot field of view at 1,000 yards with a detection range of up to 2,000 yards.

WAVE’s X-WAVE Lens™ is designed for high infrared transmission, allowing the large 44mm objective to collect more thermal energy than smaller objective systems. Working alongside the MicroTherm 18 Sensor™ and WAVE’s TrueView™ image algorithm, the system is designed to produce detailed, natural-looking thermal imagery with strong target definition.

The ETHOS E3 LRF features WAVE’s ViewMax Display™ with a 1600×1200 resolution, providing a large, immersive viewing experience. Display brightness is adjustable, while multiple color palettes allow the image to be configured to match hunting conditions and personal preference.

Power comes from a single protected 26650 rechargeable battery, providing a runtime of approximately 10 hours. The ETHOS E3 LRF can also utilize an 18650 battery with the included sleeve, providing additional flexibility when choosing backup power options. An automatic shutdown function can be configured for 30, 60, or 90 minutes to help further conserve battery life. Additionally, the unit can be powered externally through a USB-C port.

An integrated DeadEye Laser™ dual-channel laser rangefinder provides fast, accurate ranging out to 1,300 yards. The rangefinder offers both Scan Mode and Ballistic Mode and works with the ETHOS E3 LRF’s onboard ballistic calculation system to provide automatic bullet-drop compensation after obtaining a range. A dedicated laser button provides immediate access to ranging functions without navigating through the menu system. Additionally, the rangefinder is incorporated into the centerline of the scope and positioned very near the objective lens for maximum accuracy and a compact profile.

Operation is kept simple with a primary rotary knob for fast digital zoom and menu navigation along with a simplified three-button control layout. WAVE’s GloveGrip Focus™ places the focus control on top of the objective assembly, creating an ambidextrous focus system that remains easy to operate while wearing gloves. Large, raised buttons are designed for excellent ergonomics, while raised tabs separating the buttons further enhance ease of use in the dark.

The ETHOS E3 LRF also provides a comprehensive suite of other features, including Picture-in-Picture, Hot Tracking, Outline Mode, and recoil-activated recording with adjustable sensitivity. Onboard media capabilities include photo, video, and audio recording, along with the ability to view and delete media directly from the scope. Wi-Fi connectivity provides additional options for accessing and managing recorded content.

Multiple reticle and zeroing options allow the ETHOS E3 LRF to be configured for different rifles and hunting setups. The scope includes nine reticle designs plus a no-reticle option, selectable black or white reticles with polarity reversal, four illuminated center-dot designs, and red, blue, or green center-dot illumination. Users can also select front focal or second focal reticle behavior and save up to five separate firearm profiles, including caliber labeling and zero-distance information.

The ETHOS E3 LRF is built around a rugged, all-metal 30mm tube with an IP67 waterproof rating and is rated for use on rifles producing heavy recoil of up to 6,000 joules, providing the durability needed for demanding hunting applications and conditions. A threaded eyecup allows the use of either a compact rubber bumper or an extended rubber eyecup, depending on user preference.
