The Wave Horizon 650D is a premium dual-lens thermal monocular engineered to deliver exceptional image quality, versatility, and performance in a compact handheld unit. It utilizes a sixth-generation 640 × 512, 12 µm, <15 mK NETD thermal sensor, paired with Wave’s Ultra-Pure Germanium dual-lens system consisting of a wide-angle 25mm objective as well as a longer range 50mm objective. This optical system is paired with a 1024 × 768 HD AMOLED display to produce excellent thermal image quality with 1.5x & 3.0x base magnifications in 25mm and 50mm modes, respectively.  The dual-lens design makes the Horizon 650D extremely versatile by allowing it to instantly switch between a wide field of view for broad area scanning and a higher magnification for longer-range detection and identification.

A key feature of the Horizon series is its AI-Powered Range Estimating System with Target Tagging, which provides rapid, real-time distance estimation directly through the display without the use of an active laser. This system analyzes thermal signature size and scene geometry to estimate range and automatically tag targets for range estimation.  AI ranging updates in real time as targets move helping users quickly estimate and tag the shooting distance of multiple targets simultaneously.

Other features include a rugged, compact, rubberized housing with an IP67 waterproof rating, ergonomic joystick controls and a roll-wheel style focus knob together allowing one-handed operation even while wearing gloves, multiple color palettes, Wi-Fi connectivity for WAVE IR iOS and Android app integration and firmware updates.

Power is supplied by a non-proprietary 18650 rechargeable battery which provides over nine hours of operating time.  Additionally, a USB-C interface allows the unit to be powered externally for even longer operating times when needed.
